Get access to one of the most important busses for car-hacking on many 2017 and later Hyundai and Kia vehicles. This dongle installs between your head unit and the multi-media CAN bus, which is used for remote climate commands, battery preconditioning, and more, and provides standardized access via a female OBD connector. Configurable for both man-in-the-middle (serial with head unit) and parallel usage. This is the same harness used in the preconditioning kit, sold as harness-only for DIY usage. If you don't have specific head unit designs, we recommend our general-purpose selectable CAN Harness instead.

Includes:

  1. Custom wiring harness
  2. Sticky pads and zip ties for permanent, non-destructive attachment
  3. Installation instructions
  4. (If selected) installation tools: trim removal tools and a Phillips #2 L-key

No OBD device is included. Buy the full kit if you need an OBD device. Most OBD devices are not capable of reading/writing raw CAN. You will know if yours is.

Installation involves some partial removal of trim. Please review install instructions or watch the video guide before purchasing. Any car audio shop will be willing to help if you don't feel comfortable with installation, but it might be a good idea to ask for their pricing first before ordering.

We guarantee compatibility with:

  1. first-generation E-GMP cars (2021-2024 Ioniq 5, EV6, 2023-2025 Ioniq 6)
  2. Kona EV (2022-2023)

We cannot guarantee other vehicles. As an example, the 2026 Ioniq 5 uses the same connectors but the CAN lines are no longer on this connector. 2019-2021 Konas have the same connectors but one additional wire not present in this harness. 2022-2024 GV60s have several additional wires not present in this harness. Please contact us at requests@electroniqbuttons.com if you would like to order the harness for a different vehicle.

Note that CAN bus reverse engineering is challenging and this is a DIY product. If any of the words above give you pause, take a minute to learn before buying. We'd love to help with that!

Don't want to buy it? Don't! The design is open source and you can build it yourself with parts from AliExpress.

Warning: there is risk of damage associated with installation of almost anything in a car. We have done our best to document proper installation and test the kit, but we are not responsible for damage to your car. We highly recommend removal of all aftermarket devices and accessories when taking a car in for warranty service for best diagnosis, especially if the aftermarket device is visible to dealership technicians during the course of service. Specifically, if your head unit dies (this happened to us twice long before development of this product began), we recommend de-installation of this kit before taking your car in for service.

Wiring harness temperature specification: -40°C to +125°C
